DHAKA, April 8, 2025 (BSS) – Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumdar has
asked all concerned to give importance on saving agricultural land
whenever taking up any development scheme.
   
“Before taking-up a project, it should be given importance to whether the
project should be taken by excluding agricultural land as much as
possible. Above all, agricultural land must be saved,” he said.

He gave the instruction while presiding over the 146th meeting of the
Central Land Allocation Committee in the meeting room of the Land
Ministry here today.

The Adviser stressed the need for taking opinions of the locals in case of
land acquisition.  
“In cases where land is acquired in the interest of the development of the
state, the opinions of the locals should be given importance,” said Land
Advisor Ali Imam Majumdar.

In the meeting, it was decided to acquire 0.50 acres of land at plot
number 334 in Bhagdi Mouza of Narsingdi district and 0.50 acres of
land at various plots in Chandana Mouza of Gazipur district under the
project titled 'Establishment of BSTI Regional Offices in 110 districts'
being implemented by the BSTI (Bangladesh Standards and Testing
Institution).

The decision was taken on the acquisition of 2.5958 acres of land in
Baunia Mouza under Dhaka North City Corporation of Dhaka district
under the project for widening and developing of the road from ECB
Chattar to Mirpur and construction of Kalshi Intersection flyover.

In addition, under the project titled 'Development of Ramerkanda-
Lakirchar (Ruhitpur Bazar) Link Road (R-823)' under the Munshiganj
Road Department, a decision can be taken to acquire 11.553 acres of land
in Ruhitpur and Shakta Mouza under Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka
district.

Under the 'Bangladesh Environmental Sustainability and
Transformation (BEST)' project of the Department of Environment, a
decision may be taken to acquire 0.450 acres of land in different parts of
Baghata Mouza under Sadar Upazila of Narsingdi district for the
establishment of its own building.

In addition, under the 'Infrastructure Development for Japanese
Economic Zone in Araihazar, Narayanganj' project, 8.7361 acres of land
is proposed to be acquired for the establishment of a new gas
transmission line from Haripur to Dighibrabo to ensure gas supply to the
'Japanese Economic Zone'.

As 0.60 percent of the land is available for religious institutions in the
proposed area, the measures taken regarding the relocation of religious
institutions can be known.

A decision may be taken to acquire 20 acres of land in different parts of
Majhina Mouza under Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj district for the
construction of a modern and up-to-date academy on the own land of
'BCS (Tax) Academy'.

Under the project titled 'Modernization and Strengthening of the
Department of Factories and Establishments Inspection and
Establishment of 13 District Offices (1st Amendment)' under the Ministry
of Labour and Employment, a decision has been taken to acquire 0.33
acres of land in Baghata Mouza under Sadar Upazila of Narsingdi
district for the construction of the office of the District Deputy Inspector
General of the Department of Factories and Establishments Inspection in
Narsingdi district.

A decision will be taken at the concerned secretariat level meeting
regarding the acquisition of 0.5053 acres of land for the implementation
of the project of Balushair FCDI Sub-Center under Sadar Upazila of
Narsingdi district under the project titled 'Climate-Smart Agriculture
and Water Management (CSAWM)' of the Ministry of Water Resources.

Additionally, for the preservation and development of the house of
Girish Chandra Sen as an important archaeological monument', the
proposal for the acquisition of 0.0246 acres of land in Burairhat Mouza
under Sadar Upazila of Narsingdi district was approved.

The Secretary has taken a decision to acquire 368.00 acres of land at
various places in Majerchar, Chanpur Diara and Katuarchar mouzas
under Raipur Upazila of Narsingdi district in favor of the project titled
'Raipura 120 MW (AC) Peak Grid Tied Solar Power Plant' and to acquire
a total of 0.1053 acres of land at various places in Uttar Parich
Brahmanchiran mouza under Motijheel police station of Dhaka district
for the construction of Ventilation Duct-5 due to the correction of Knox
Gazi at Kamalapur Patal Metrorail Station of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit
Development Project (Line-1).

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land ASM Saleh Ahmed and Senior
Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division Md. Ehsanul
Hoque, among others, were present.
