DHAKA, April 10, 2025 (BSS) - Students, teachers, officials, and employees of Jagannath University today observed an agitation programme titled 'March for Palestine', calling on global leaders to stop the killings and destruction in Palestine by Israel.
 
Representatives from the Jagannath University Teachers' Association submitted memorandums to the US Embassy, the Saudi Arabian Embassy, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanding initiatives to end such killings and destruction.
 
Starting from the university's main gate, a procession moved toward the embassies. Representatives from the university then submitted the memorandums on behalf of the participants.
 
During the procession, participants continuously chanted slogans expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and demanded an immediate end to Israeli genocide in Palestine.
 
Following the procession, a brief rally was held on campus, where Professor Rais Uddin, General Secretary of the Jagannath University Teachers' Association, announced a three-point declaration.
 
The points include boycotting Israeli products, praying for the Palestinian people, and laying siege to the UN office in Bangladesh if no resolution to the crisis comes out after the submission of the memorandums.
 
Speaking at the rally, Joint Convener of the Teachers' Association Dr Bilal Hossain said, "We have submitted memorandums to the US and Saudi embassies, demanding immediate action to stop the Israeli genocide in Palestine and to establish an independent Palestinian state."
 
Leaders of various university associations also addressed the rally.
