DHAKA, April 22, 2025 (BSS) -The agitating student representatives of
technical institutions met with Technical and Madrasah Education Division
Secretary Dr K M Kabirul Islam at his office here on Monday.
An 8-member committee including the Division, the Directorate of Technical
Education, Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Institution of Diploma
Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) and student representatives has already been
formed to fulfill the reasonable demands, said a PID release here today.
The formed committee will formulate recommendations to fulfill the short,
medium and long-term demands.
Next steps will be taken based on the recommendations.
During the meeting, the Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Technical
Education, senior officials of the ministry and leaders of the Institute of
Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) were present.
Earlier, the students of the technical department carried out various
programmes by blocking roads and railways in different districts across the
country including Dhaka to implement the six-point demand.
This has caused public suffering as well as unrest in technical educational
institutions.
