DHAKA, April 24, 2025 (BSS) – A group of injured victims of July uprising today organized a human chain in front of National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) demanding proper treatment.

They alleged that many of the injured need to be treated abroad, but for various reasons steps are not taken in this regard.

The injured persons said that they were given health cards, but when they go to the hospitals with that card, they are not getting any treatment. That is why they have formed the human chain, they added.

Injured Md. Tanvir Hossain said, “Proper treatment for us must be ensured. But we are not getting proper treatment. We are not providing any medicine. We are buying medicine with our own money.”

Another injured Md. Rafi Hossain, a madrasa student, said, "On July 18, a splinter from a bullet fired by law enforcers in Shyamoli area hit my right leg. Later, on August 5, bullets fired by law enforcers hit my hands during the movement in Mohammadpur. Since then, I have been undergoing treatment at NITOR. I am spending my days with unbearable pain.”

Rafi said they will continue various programmes every day from next Saturday unless their demands are fulfilled.
