DHAKA, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Labour Reform Commission has recommended
the formation of a committee comprising the government, employers, workers
and experts to formulate and implement single and sector-based national
standards for occupational health and safety of workers in line with
international standards.

The reform commission submitted its report to the Chief Adviser Professor
Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday last.

In the report, it suggested maintaining national and international standards
of safety in the workplace, identifying hazard processes and inclusion of
environmental issues.

It also recommended introducing safety management policies and implementing
those policies in each factory.

The commission suggested updating checklists on chemical and waste
management, environmental risks and hazardous work and publishing those on
the website of the relevant ministries.
