RMCH records two more fatalities in Covid-19 unit

 RAJSHAHI, Nov 14, 2021 (BSS) - Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH)

recorded two more fatalities in its Covid-19 unit during the last 24 hours
till 6am today.

   RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said one of the deceased
was a resident of Rajshahi, while another from Chapainawabganj district. One
of them was tested positive for Covid-19, while the other was suffering from
its symptoms.

   Two of them were male.

   The death toll due to Covid-19 and its symptoms reached 22 so far this
month with the new fatalities. However, the previous day's fatality figure
was also two.

   However, Thursday's death figure was zero after four consecutive days. The
hospital recorded zero death on Sunday after another on October 31.

   Earlier, the number of casualties was 100 in October, 167 in September,
340 in August, 566 in July and 405 in June in the Covid unit of RMCH, sources
said.

   Meanwhile, three more patients were admitted to the Covid-19 unit during
the last 24 hours, taking the number of admitted patients to 34, including
six testing positive for Covid-19, at present.

   Eleven other patients returned home after being cured in the unit during
the period.  

  Two more people were found Covid-19 positive after testing 215 samples in
Rajshahi's two laboratories on Saturday, showing a 0.93 percent infection
rate against 2.28 percent on Friday.
