JAMALPUR, Dec 4, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan today said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the inspiration of the oppressed, exploited, deprived, and liberation-seeking people of the world.
 
"The father of the nation was the inspiration for the oppressed, exploited, deprived and liberation-seeking people of the world. He, who defined the Bengali nation as an independent sovereign nation, brought freedom to the Bengali nation by breaking the shackles of thousands of years of subjugation," he said.
 
He said this while addressing a discussion at Bakshiganj Upazila here on the occasion of 'Kamalpur Hanadar Mukto Dibosh', said a press release.
 
Murad also said that in the general election of 1970, the boat symbol of Bangladesh Awami League under the leadership of the father of the nation got 64 percent of the votes.
 
The remaining 36 percent of voters were outside the Awami League and they were Razakars and their cohorts, he said, adding that the successors of those Razakars are still living in Bangladesh, and are constantly hatching new conspiracies.
 
"We have to stop their conspiracy under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he added.
 
With President of Brihattar Mymensingh Somonnoy Parishad Md Abul Kalam Azad in the chair, the discussion was attended, among others, by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, former minister Abul Kalam Azad and former senior secretary Zafar Uddin.
