DHAKA, Dec 29, 2021 (BSS) - Customs officials today arrested a man along
with 44 gold bars and five gold bangles weighing around 5 kg 180 grams at
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

   The estimated weight of the total gold is about Taka 3.40 crore, said
Dhaka Customs House Deputy Commissioner Sanwarul Kabir.

   Kabir said the arrestee was identified as Ataur Rahman, son of Altab Ali
of Jarunia Gazipur village under Chunarughat police station in Habiganj
district.

   Acting on a tip-off, a team of customs officials stopped the passenger and
recovered the gold bars from his possession.

   A case was lodged with the airport thana in this connection and the
arrestee was handed over to police.
