DHAKA, Dec 29, 2021 (BSS) – Planning Minister MA Mannan today said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the main inspiration and source of power in the country’s independence movement.
   
“It was possible for Bangabandhu to wage a movement. He was above all. He was the main inspiration and source of power in the country’s independence movement,” he told reception and cultural programme in the capital.
    
Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRUB) arranged the function at Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) with TRUB president Salam Mahmud in the chair.
   
 Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Road Transport and Bridges Ministry Roushan Ara Mannan, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Mokbul Hossain, Prof Dr Hamida Khanam of Dhaka University Lutfar Rahman of Akash-Beximco Communications, and Barrister Jahana Imam Foundation chairman Barrister Jahana Imam also spoke.
   
At the function, mother of Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Professor and Advocate Kamrun Nahar Begum, freedom fighter and cultural personality M Hamid and Jatiya Press Club president Farida Yasmin, among others, were honoured for their contribution to society and human welfare.
 
They were given one crest and an Uttaria each.    
 
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Mokbul Hossain said Advocate Kamrun Nahar Begum is a proud mother as she gave birth to an illustrious son like Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud.
   
He said her other children living abroad are performing their duties with dignity.
   
At the programme, the cover of a book titled ‘Mujib Manee Bangladesh’ was unveiled.
