Over 4.48 cr books being distributed in Rangpur division

  RANGPUR, Jan 01, 2022 (BSS) - Distribution of over 4.48 crore textbooks 
among 27 lakh students of more than 18,000 primary and secondary level 
educational institutions of Rangpur division began today marking the National 
Textbook Distribution Festival-2022. 

   The students received new textbooks at their respective educational 
institutions amid festivity on the New Year's Day today. 

  Officials said authorities of the educational institutions concerned 
organized the ceremonies abiding by the health directives in the wake of the 
Covid-19 pandemic in all eight districts of the division. 

   The Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, District and Upazila 
Primary Education Officers, Upazila Nirbahi Officers and public 
representatives inaugurated the festival across the division. 

   The new textbooks are being distributed among the students of primary 
level schools and ebtedayee madrasahs, secondary level schools, madrasahs and 
vocational institutions in the division.

  In Rangpur city, the District Primary Education Office with assistance of 
Directorate of Primary Education organized the main book distribution 
function on Amashu Government Primary School ground in Ashratpur area of the 
city.

  Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahhab Bhuiyan inaugurated the festival 
by distributing books among primary level students of the institution as the 
chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan, Additional Deputy 
Commissioner (Education and ICT) AWM Raihan Shah, District Primary Education 
Officer ASM Shahjahan Siddique and other officials were present.

  Besides, Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa distributed new 
textbooks at another function held on Shaheed Sangku Samajhder Bidyaniketon 
ground in Ashratpur area of the city as the chief guest.

  Adviser of the institution Professor Mohammad Shah Alam, teacher of Begum 
Rokeya University Umar Farooque and Principal of Shaheed Sangku Samajhdar 
Bidyaniketon Tania Sultana Sumi were present. 

   After getting new textbooks today, class-five students Saniya and Nahid, 
class six students Sabiha and Bakul and class eight students Nurun Nahar and 
Aklima of different primary schools in Rangpur city expressed their 
cheerfulness.

  "I am enormously happy after getting new textbooks on the very first day of 
the New Year 2022 as the New Year's gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," 
said another class five student Rekha in the city.
