57 Libraries in memory of Ayesha Khanam inaugurated 

   DHAKA, Jan 02, 2022 (BSS) - A total of 57 libraries were inaugurated across the country in the name of women's movement leader and late president of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad Ayesha Khanam.

   Incumbent President of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad Dr. Fauzia Moslem inaugurated the libraries today.

   The Mahila Parishad leader said, "Besides, leading the women's movement, Ayesha was trying to inculcate the habit of reading books and practicing knowledge among the members of the organization." 

  Paying homage to her memory, "Ayesha Khanam Library" has been inaugurated in 57 district offices of the country including the central office on her first death anniversary today.

   Freedom fighter Ayesha Khanam was born on October 18, 1947 in the village of Gabragati of Netrokona district. She worked tirelessly to eradicate discrimination against women in society.

   She passed away on January 2 in 2021 at the age of 74.
