DHAKA, Jan 11, 2022 (BSS) - The Homecoming Day of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Mumbai on Monday with due dignity and solemnity.

   Marking the day, the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Mumbai observed the day on a limited scale in compliance with the COVID-19 protocol following the issuance of a warning in Mumbai due to the outbreak of corona virus, said an official release here today.

   At the commencement of the programme, the officers and employees led by the acting Deputy High Commissioner laid wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, the release also said.

   Separate speeches of the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh were read out alongside screening a documentary on Bangabandhu on the occasion.

   Acting Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Mumbai Zakir Ahmed spoke on the occasion.

   In his speech, he respectfully recalled the life style of the Father of the Nation and his undisputed leadership and immense sacrifice in all our struggles for independence.
