DHAKA, Jan 20, 2022 (BSS) – Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique and his wife Dalia Firoz have tested positive for Covid-19. 

The chief justice was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) in the city Wednesday night, BSMMU Director Brigadier General Md Nazrul Islam Khan told BSS. 

Earlier, his wife Dalia Firoz was admitted to the same hospital for treatment on Tuesday, he added. 

Both are now undergoing treatment at VIP cabins at the BSMMU. 

In absence of the chief justice, Justice Md Nuruzzaman today led the five-member appellate bench of the country’s apex court.
 
The High Court and the Appellate Division have been operating virtually since Wednesday amid the new spike in Covid cases.
