JS body discusses progress of setting up DNA lab

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2022 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Woman and Children Affairs today discussed the progress of setting up DNA lab and the activities taken for preventing violence against women.

The meeting was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Meher Afroz in the chair, said a press release.  

Committee members Md Shahjahan Mia, Md Abdul Aziz, Syeda Rashida Begum, Shahadara Mannan and Kaniz Fatema Ahmed were present at the meeting.

The committee recommended arranging training under Joyeeta- Kaliganj at Kaliganj upazila, Gazipur.

Besides, the committee suggested taking up project to provide laptops to district and upazila based women including strengthening the activities of 'Tottho Apa' and e-commerce project as well as increasing the scope of training for women development.

Secretary of the ministry and high officials of the ministry and parliament secretariat were present.
