DHAKA, Aug 01, 2026 (BSS) - Three more children have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, while 872 new measles cases were reported during the same period, according to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, the number of suspected measles cases recorded over the past 24 hours stood at 751, bringing the total number of suspected measles cases to 129,061 from March 15 to August 1.

During the past 24 hours, 121 confirmed measles cases were reported, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 16,180 since March 15.

From March 15 to August 1, a total of 111,674 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. During the same period, 107,397 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Three children died from suspected measles in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from suspected measles among children to 744 since March 15.

No deaths from confirmed measles were reported during the past 24 hours. From March 15 to August 1, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 96.
