DHAKA, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - Police of Mohammadpur, Dakshinkhan, Bangshal, Motijheel and Turag station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 51 people involved in various criminal activities across the city. 

According to DMP’s press release issued here today, police conducted special drives in different crime-prone areas and arrested them.

It said Mohammadpur police conducted a special drive and arrested 25 people. They are Sabbir, 22; Rakib, 23; Siam Ahmed Tuhin, 24; Ibrahim, 25; Shakil, 25; Russel, 28; Suruj, 30; Manik, 33; Monir, 45; Sujon, 22; Raihan, 26; Naim, 26; Jahangir, 28; Abdullah Al Noman, 30; Mahazabin Nasrin, 25; Bashir, 29; Solaiman, 24; Saiful Islam, 30; Shanto, 19; Kajal, 50; Shaheen, 30; Arif Hossain, 23; Rafsan, 27; Rubel, 28; and Tajim Ibn Jalil, 32.

Dakshinkhan police said four people were arrested including Shanto Islam, 21; Md Rakibul Hasan Rubel; Kaiyum Bhuiyan, 40; and Mst Khukumoni, 45, the release said.

It said Bangshal police arrested 11 people during a similar drive in crime-prone areas. They are Md Ashik Iqbal; Md Faruk Mia, 37; Md Yasin, 24; Mohammad Nabidul Haque, 50; Md Shah Alam, 40; Md Mostafa, 45; Md Joni, 32; Md Tushar Ahmed, 28; Md Rokonuzzaman; Md Nur Islam, 49; and Md Jamal Hossain, 35.

Motijheel police arrested six people including Md Imon Hossain Rony alias Pipe Rony; Md Nur Islam alias Nayan Islam, 28; Md Nazmul Haque, 28; Md Talim Hossain, 28; Manik Mia, 54; and Md Mojibor, 28, the DMP release said.

Besides, the Turag police arrested five people. The arrested are Md Aminul Islam Sohag, 26; Sheikh Shahanaz Mahi, 25; Md Sharif, 19; Md Tanvir Haque, 21; and Md Tanzil, 19, it added.

Police said the arrested individuals have been produced before the court after completing legal formalities, the DMP said.
