Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing today urged all public representatives
to maintain good relations with the people.

  "We have to understand the needs of the people and what they want to
say as we do politics for the people. All public representatives must
maintain good relations with the people," he said.

   He was speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with
the newly elected representatives of the Union Parishad of Alikadam at
his residence in Bandarban, an official release said.

   The minister also asked the public representatives to work in
coordination with the administration for development and peace in
their respective areas.

  With Awami League National Committee member Abdur Rahim Chowdhury in
the chair, the meeting was attended, among others, by Bandarban Hill
District Council Member Laxmipad Das, CHT Regional Council member
Kajal Kanti Das and chairman and members of the newly elected Union
Parishad of Alikadam upazila.
