DHAKA, Feb 22, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Umar Farooq left Mongla naval jetty today to take part in international naval exercise EX Milan-2022 in Visakhapatnam, India.

     Khulna Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral M Anwar Hossain formally bade farewell to the ship as the chief guest. The other senior officials, family members of the ship's crew were there to see the ship off, an ISPR release said.

     The ship would take part in the EX Milan-2022 from February 25 to March 4, 2022 in Visakhapatnam. A total of 284 crewmen of the ship including trainee officers, led by Captain ABM Zakiul Hasan Bhuiyan are taking part in the exercise.

     Naval forces of a total 46 countries including Bangladesh are taking part in the exercise.

     BNS Umar Farooq is expected to return home on March 6.
