DHAKA, Mar 4, 2022 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested five

drug traders along with 12 kilogram ice (crystal meth), 1lakh contraband yaba
tablets and two foreign made pistols from Gojaria upazila of Munshiganj.

The arrestees are Md Jashimuddin alias Jashim, 32, Md Moksud Miah, 29, Md
Riaz Uddin, 23, Shahin Alam, 28, and Md Shamsul Alam, 35.

Of them, Shahin Alam and Md Shamsul Alam were arrested from Moheshkhali in
Cox's Bazar.

During the drive, the RAB-15 also seized 12 kg of ice, 1lakh pieces of
contraband yaba tablets, 4,600 pieces of seductive (drug) injections, two
foreign made pistols, two torch lights, Myanmar registered SIM cards, Taka
1.57 lakh Bangladeshi currency, Myanmar currency equivalent to Taka 1 lakh
and five mobile phone sets.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees said that they were involved
in drug trading across the country in collaboration with Myanmar drug
traders.

Legal actions are underway against the drug traders.
