DHAKA, March 24, 2022 (BSS) - With a reminder about the milestones on the country's drive towards the high-income status in 2041, CRI Trustee Radwan Mujib Siddiq made a call for equipping, in advance, children who will be in the driving seat of the coming transformation.

"Bangladesh has its sights firmly set on three significant milestones over the next two decades: least developed country graduation in 2026, Sustainable Development Goal attainment in 2030, and becoming a high-income economy in 2041. Over these two decades, today's schoolchildren will gradually take over the responsibility of continuing Bangladesh's progress as a nation," said Radwan, editor-in-chief of WhiteBoard, in the editor's note of the 7th episode of the policy-based quarterly.

"What can today's policy-makers do to ensure that the next generation is equipped to face the challenges of a rapidly changing country in an increasingly complex world?" he added.

Outlining the crucial period of growth and development Bangladesh to undergo in the next 20 years, Radwan, a grandson of Bangabandhu, observed that it is ever more important for the stakeholders of tomorrow to have a say in the policies that are being formulated today.

"At WhiteBoard, we hope to provide a space for these voices to be heard," he said.

WhiteBoard, the country's first policy-based magazine, features in-depth policy articles, penned by globally acclaimed researchers and writers. In the seventh installment, the magazine explored some pressing issues such as the need for 'comprehensively reforming' the country's education system.
