DHAKA, March 26, 2022 (BSS) - The foreign ministry today celebrated the great 
Independence and National Day by paying profound tribute to memories of 
greatest Bengali of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur 
Rahman and heroic martyrs of the Liberation War.

The day programmed started by foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen hoisting the 
national flag at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital this morning, a 
foreign ministry press release said.  

After that Dr Momen along with foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen and other 
high officials of the ministry paid deep homage to Bangabandhu by laying a 
wreath at his portrait at the academy. 

They observed a minute of silence in memory of Bangabandhu and the heroic 
martyrs of the liberation war. 

Foreign Ministry's Secretary (West) Shabbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Secretary (East) 
Mashfi Binte Shams and Foreign Service Academy Rector Asad Alam Siam were 
present, among others.
