DHAKA, March 26, 2022 (BSS) - Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams
Parash today demanded international recognition of March 25 as Genocide Day
commemorating the massacre launched by Pakistan army on Bangalee nation on
the fateful night of March 25 in 1971.
"We want March 25 should be recognized as Genocide Day at the quickest time,"
he told reporters after paying tributes to Liberation War martyrs by placing
wreaths at the National Memorial at Saver.
Parash said Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's
government has brought the war criminals to justice.
All war criminals will be tried in phases, he mentioned.
He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman proclaimed the
country's independence in the early hours of March 26 before his arrest.
At the directives of Bangabandhu, Bengalees participated in the great
Liberation War to free the soil from the subjugation of West Pakistan, he
mentioned.
