DHAKA, March 26, 2022 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the oath of Independence Day is to take Bangladesh at its cherished place after eliminating all kinds of anti-liberation forces.
He said this while talking to journalists after paying homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi road number -32 along with central leaders of AL marking the Independence and National Day.
Party leaders including Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi were present on the occasion.
Hasan said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Greatest Bangalee of All Times, had proclaimed the independence of Bangladesh in the early hours of March 26 (the night following March 25) in 1971.
Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, Bangalees had established the first nation state in the history of their 5000 years through the nine-month bloodstained battle, the information minister mentioned.
He said today's Bangladesh, under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has exceeded Pakistan in all indices after the 50 years of Independence and even the country surpassed India in some indexes.
The success of establishing of Bangladesh by Bangabandhu and running the country by Bangabandhu's daughter is that Pakistan now regrets witnessing Bangladesh's uplift, Hasan mentioned.
But the matter of sorrow is that BNP and their allies are still the key patrons of anti-liberation evil forces in the country, he said.
"Today our oath is to take Bangladesh at its cherished place after eliminating all anti-liberation evil forces," Hasan said.
On the occasion, the minister paid glowing tributes to Bangabandhu, 30 lakh martyrs of Liberation War, two lakh repressed women, four national leaders and all martyrs of August 15, 1975 including Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
