DHAKA, March 30, 2022 (BSS) - A workshop on formulating an academic master
plan for Bangladesh Open University (BOU) was held at the teachers' seminar
hall on the university campus in Gazipur today.
BOU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Syed Humayun Akhter addressed the event
as the chief guest while University Grants Commission (UGC) Member Professor
Dr Biswajit Chanda joined as the key discussant, said a BOU press release
here today.
BOU Pro-VC (academic) Professor Dr Mahbuba Nasreen presented a master plan
for BOU and its implementation process in the programme and presided over the
workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, the BOU VC said a master plan for the next 50 years
should be formulated for the BOU to fulfill Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream of building 'Sonar Bangla'.
Noting that a master plan shows the way to take any institution forward, he
said BOU has divided its plans into two academic and infrastructural plans to
take the university ahead.
Pro-VC (administration) Professor Dr Nasim Banu, Treasurer Professor Mostafa
Azad Kamal and Registrar Dr M Shafiqul Alam delivered the welcome addresses
in the workshop.
