Grassroots leaders, activists are lifeblood of AL-Hasan

CHATTOGRAM, April 9, 2022 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said that the grassroots leaders and activists are the lifeblood of Awami League (AL).

"It is the grassroots leaders and activists who made the AL strongest for ages. The AL is in state power four times today, including three times in a row, standing on their labors, talents, sweats and bloods, "Hasan also joint secretary of AL said. 

He was addressing as the chief guest at a memorial meeting and iftar mahfil of the late AL leaders of Rangunia upazila held at Advocate Nuruchfa Talukder Auditorium of Rangunia Municipality of the district this evening.

Dr Hasan said, “All those we remember in Rangunia today were Bangabandhu's activists. Later, they had worked as leaders and activists of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina.”

 "Based on their contribution, we have got the opportunity to become an MP, Upazila Chairman, Vice-Chairman or other important positions. So if we don't remember them, future generations will not remember us," he added.

 AL leaders Swajan Kumar Talukder, Abul Kashem Chishti, Zahir Ahmed Chowdhury, Md. Shahjahan Sikder, Muhammad Ali Shah, Iqbal Hossain, Abdur Rauf Master, Ariful Islam Chowdhury, Sheikh Farid Uddin Chowdhury, Ektehar Hossain, Sajjatul Islam Khokon, Shamsuddoha Sikder Arzu, Ayub Rana, Nasir Uddin Riaz, Morshed Talukder and Russell Rasu, among others, addressed the function.

 Earlier, the minister distributed Tk 4,500 each among 126 poor people of the upazila as chief guest at a money distribution function organized by Chattogram District Unit of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
