DHAKA, May 10, 2022 (BSS) - Three associate and brotherly organizations -- Bangladesh Chhatra League, Jubo Mohila League and Mohila Awami League -- of ruling Awami League (AL) have been asked to hold councils as early as possible.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today gave the directive in this regard at a meeting of AL secretariat at the party's central office in the city's Bangabandhu Avenue area.
Leaders of AL's Dhaka city north and south units and its associate and brotherly organizations joined the meeting.
"We have given directives to Chhatra League, Jubo Mohila League and Mohila Awami League for holding councils. They will take schedule of our party President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after talking with responsible person at the AL office," Quader said.
Date for holding councils will be fixed as per the prime minister's consent, he added.
The AL general secretary also said AL Information and Research Secretary Dr Selim Mahmood has been given the responsibility for amending the party constitution and declaration paper, marking the AL's upcoming council.
Besides, AL Joint General Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has been given responsibly for publishing special supplements, marking the party's founding anniversary on June 23, Quader added.
AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua has been assigned to update the information of AL leaders at the district and upazila level on the occasion of the party's national council.
