DHAKA, June 21, 2021 (BSS) - Mufti Amir Hamza has given a confessional statement in a case filed under the anti-terrorism act with the Darus Salam police station in the capital.
As he was produced before the court today after a two-day remand, he voluntarily agreed to make a confessional statement.
Counter Terrorism Unit, the investigating agency in the case, then applied to record a confessional statement under Criminal Procedure Code 164.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim recorded his statement and sent him to jail.
Sub-inspector of police Maqboolur Rahman, general registration officer of Darus Salam police station, confirmed the matter to BSS.
On Thursday, the court granted a two-day remand to Amir Hamza.
Amir Hamza was arrested from Kushtia on May 24.
