DHAKA, May 26, 2022 (BSS) - Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said the government will formulate a law aiming to implement the Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100.
"Once the law will come into effect, the issue will get a legal base," he told a panel discussion of an international conference on 'Institutional Challenges and Opportunities with International Lessons' at a city hotel here.
Rezaul Karim urged all to keep confidence in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in building a prosperous Bangladesh through implementation of the Delta Plan.
He said the delta plan was formulated under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which will bring benefits for the whole world.
"Once the plan is implemented, the world people will be benefited for generations," the minister said.
John Roome, Regional Director, South Asia Sustainable Development at the World Bank, presided over the session, while Professor of the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCECD) Saleemul Huq moderated it.
Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin, Ambassador of the Netherlands Anne Gerard van Leeuwen, State Minister for Water Resources Zaheed Farooque, World Bank's Country Director and Bhutan Mercy Miyang Tembon, member (secretary) of the General Economics Department of the Planning Commission Dr Md Kawser Ahmed joined the discussion.
