DHAKA, July 19, 2021 (BSS) - Speakers at a dialogue today said
potentials of digital trade in services should be enhanced through
better accessibility, affordability and application of technology.
“Bangladesh needs to prepare for reaping benefits from digital trade
in services. It is imperative to explore how Bangladesh can benefit
from digital trade in services,” they opined.
Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES)
Bangladesh Office organised the virtual dialogue on ‘Trade in Services
in the Digital Age’, said a press release.
MD Kamruzzaman resented the keynote paper. Dr Ratnakar Adhikari,
Executive Director, Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) of World Trade
Organization (WTO) highlighted about the potential of digital trade.
Dr Selim Raihan, Professor, Department of Economics, University of
Dhaka and Executive Director, SANEM, high-level policy makers,
researchers, development practitioners, academics, business leaders,
civil society activists, international development partners and
journalists joined the dialogue.
