DHAKA, June 17, 2022 (BSS) – A youth died after he was hit by a lightning strike in Notun Shonakanda Industrial park area in the Upazila this morning. 

The deceased was identified as Shojib Sarker, 18, an inhabitant of Rangpur district. He used to live at Notun Shonakanda along with his family. 

Local people said Shojib Sarker was struck by lightning at around 10 am when he was playing football in the field during rain. He died on the spot. 

Officer-in-Charge of Keraniganj Model Thana Md Abu Salam Mia confirmed the matter.
