HABIGANJ, July 16, 2022 (BSS) - At least three people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in front of the Rustampur toll plaza on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Nabiganj upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Rabban Mia,45, son of Kacha Mia of Daulatpur village of Nabiganj upazila, Bakul Begum, 55, wife of Abul Mia of Betapur village and Jabed Mia, 24, of Kachi Mia of the same village.

The accident occurred, when a Dhaka-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a Sylhet-bound Mithali Paribahan bus coming from opposite direction in the area at around 3.30pm, leaving two passengers and the CNG-run auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and wounding two passengers, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nabiganj Police Station Dalim Ahmed told BSS.

The injured were sent to Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex and Sylhet MAC Osmani Medical College and Hospital, the OC added.
