PANCHAGARH, July, 21, 2022 (BSS) - Panchagarh has declared as homeless and landless free district today. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made this declaration from her official Ganabhaban residence through a virtually programme at about 11am.
No one will remain homeless and landless, it was declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of Mujib centenary. After this declaration by the Prime Minister, Panchagarh is now free from homeless and landless. On this occasion, the district administration arranged a programme at Mahanpara Ashrayan Project under Sadar upazila.
A total of 2,434 landless and homeless people have received tin-shed semi-pucca houses under the third phase of Ashrayan project-2 in all five upazilas of the district. Each of the houses has a corridor, a kitchen and a sanitary latrine. Without it, every householder got electricity connection in their own house and set up tube well for pure drinking water. Earliar, 1057 and 1359 landless and homeless people have received under the first and second phases in the district.
Railways Minister Advocate Nurul Islam Sujon handed over the documents of the houses regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to the enlisted homeless and landless people as the chief guest here.
Member of Parliament (MP) from Panchagarh-1 constituency Mojaharul Huque Prodhan , Divisional Commissioner of Rangpur Abdul Wahab Mia, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Panchagarh Md Johurul Islam, Police Super Yousuf Ali, District Administrator Anwar Sadat Samrat, Municipal Mayor Zakia Khatun , government high officials, freedom fighters and beneficiaries were present during the Prime Minister’s virtual conversation.
After getting the house and documents, the helpless Rasul Islam said, I am happy and overwhelmed. I had no house, I am expressing my gratitude to the Prime Minister and also praying for her long life and sound health.
At that time, Zannatun Akter, daughter of Rasul Islam, a class three student of Kajoldighi Government Primary School expressed her heartfelt love and gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
