DHAKA, July 25, 2022 (BSS) - State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman today said flood damaged properties including crops and infrastructures amounting Taka 86,811.65 crore in 18 districts in the country this year.
"Floods completely damaged crops nearly Taka 1,258.53 crore this year while it partially damaged crops of roughly Taka 55,957.21 crore," he told a meeting at his ministry here, an official release said.
The devastating flood causes huge infrastructural damages including houses, roads, embankments and bridges, the state minister said adding "Of them, houses were damaged completely around Taka 364.84 crore while houses partially damaged Taka 1.355.3crore."
He said the government distributed 7,020 tonnes of rice among different natural disasters including flood hit people between April 1 and July 21.
A total of 9.44 cash money were distributed among the people who suffered losses due to natural disaster including flood, Enamur added.
