Tazul urges people of all faiths to remain united against radicalism

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2022 (BSS) - LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam today called upon the people of all religious faiths to remain united to resist anti-liberation forces' conspiracy and radicalism.

"If the Hindus, the Muslims and all other religious faiths remain united, plots of anti-liberation forces can't halt the country's development spree," he said.

Tazul was addressing a discussion and cultural function marking the central Janmashtami celebration-2022 arranged by Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee at Dhakeshwari National Temple here this afternoon.

Once the Hindus and other communities felt insecurity but after assuming office Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ensured security for the people of all religious faiths including Hinduism, Christianity and Buddhism, he mentioned.

Now people can practice their respective religious rites freely and all types of discriminations have been removed, he said.

The minister said Bangladesh was born for people of all religious faiths, so it is natural that all would get equal facilities.

Sheikh Hasina's government is determined to ensure rights of the people of all religions, he said.

As long as Sheikh Hasina stays in power, people of all religions will get equal rights and Bangladesh would never be derailed, he said.

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder and State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan addressed the discussion as the special guests while Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswami spoke, among others.

Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee President Manindra Kumar Nath chaired the discussion moderated by its General Secretary Ramendra Mandol.

Earlier, the LGRD and Cooperatives minister joined a discussion and doa mahfil marking the National Mourning Day at National Museum auditorium at Shahbagh here.
