BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 24, 2022 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said local conspirators killed Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of his family members to make Bangladesh known as a beggar country in world stage.

"Even the Pakistani junta couldn't gather courage to kill Bangabandhu, but the black sheep in our country mercilessly killed him," he said.

The minister said this while virtually addressing a discussion and doa mahfil marking National Mourning Day and 47th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organized by Kasba upazila Muktijodda Command Council this afternoon.

"Bangabandhu loved his people with whole heart. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is fulfilling her father's dream of making Bangladesh 'Sonar Bangla'. Bangladesh is now a role model of development," he added.

Presided over by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) and convener of upazila Muktijoddha Command Council Masud-ul-Alam, the discussion was also addressed by upazila chairman Advocate Rashedul Kawser Bhuiyan Jibon and Kasba municipality mayor Golam Hakkani, among others.
