Nineteenth session of 11th parliament prorogued

DHAKA, Sept 1, 2022 (BSS) – The nineteenth session of 11th parliament was prorogued today after five sittings as the session begins on August 28.
 
Before read out the prorogation order of the President, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presented a historic address of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman on April 30 in 1972 ahead of the May Day from the archive.
 
Jatiya Sangsad leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered her valedictory speech at the closing session of the 11th parliament.  Deputy Leader of the Opposition GolamMohammad Quader also gave concluding speech at the House.

A total of 228 treasury and opposition bench lawmakers delivered their addresses during the session. A total of threebills were passed in the session.
 
Along with the legal procedure, a total of 37 important notices under section 71 of the rules of procedure were received.

A total of 37 questions were available for the Prime Minister’s question and answer session where only 15 questions were answered by the PM during the session.
 
During the question answer session, only 986 questions were answered by the ministers under different ministries with some 369 questions were received for the session. Two proposals were accepted and adopted after widely discussed under section 147 of the rules of procedure.
 
Before reading out the prorogation order, the Speaker thanked all the MPs of treasury and opposition benches.
 
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also thanked all the MPs, officials, journalists, law enforcers  and fire service and civil defense personnel for their services for smoother holding of the parliament session.
