Wayward politicians should be resisted: Shajahan Khan

RANGPUR, Sept 10, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League presidium member and heroic freedom fighter Shajahan Khan, MP, today called for resisting wayward politicians who want to create anarchy through conducting terrorism.

"There are some wayward politicians in the country, who have started making big leaps, and they need to be resisted," he said and called upon the party leaders and activists to be ready for resisting terrorism, fire terrorism and anarchy.

Shajahan Khan said this while addressing the special extended meeting organized by the district Awami League at the district Shilpokola Academy auditorium in the city.

Rangpur District Awami League organized the special extended meeting.

Presided over by President of Rangpur District Awami League Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju moderated the event.

Shajahan Khan said BNP started terrorist activities in the country. During the post 1975 periods in 2004 and 2014-2015, BNP burned cars and people and proved how much terror BNP can do.

"But the Secretary General of BNP, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir says that they are not a terrorist group, they do not commit terrorism. Then I ask Mirza Fakhrul who are the terrorists?" he said.

Khan said, "They (BNP) want to carry out the same terrorism again. But, they will not be allowed to terrorize people on the soil of the country. They will be resisted."

He said the independence of Bangladesh was achieved under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and successful Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established the country as a role model for world development.

"This country cannot be handed over to the Razakars and Al-shams. Centering the next general elections, the Jamaat BNP clique will try to spread heat in the streets. So we have to strongly organize our party and unite, forgetting petty differences," he said.
