DHAKA, Sept 11, 2022 (BSS) - Ruling Awami League (AL)'s former lawmaker and valiant Freedom Fighter Prof. Khaleda Khanum died of cardiac arrest at her residence here early today.

She was 73.

Khaleda, also former Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad and former vice president of Bangladesh Mohila AL, breathed her last at 1 am last night at her Lalmatia residence, family sources said.

She was also former head of the department of Political Science of Lalmatia Govt. Mahila College and general secretary of Bangladesh National Society for the Blind. 

Khaleda will be buried at her family graveyard at Kuarpur village under Shariatpur district after Asar prayer today.

Her family requested relatives, associates, friends and well wishers to pray for the eternal peace of her departed soul.
