DHAKA, Sept 13, 2022 (BSS) - Voluntary organisation Quantum Foundation has become a place of trust to both blood donors and recipients, said Health Services Division Secretary Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader.

He was addressing as the chief guest a blood donor honouring ceremony arranged by Quantum Foundation at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) at Kakrail here.

Howlader said Quantum has been providing services to people for long through its voluntary blood donation programme.

Over 300 blood donors who donated blood for at least three times, 10 times, 25 times or 50 times voluntarily under the initiative of the Quantum Foundation were honoured on the occasion with providing certificates, ID card and crests.

Quantum Foundation's Voluntary Blood Donation Programme Director (Motivation) M Rezaul Hasan gave the welcome address with Voluntary Blood Donation Programme Chief Coordinator Madam Nahar Al Bokhari in the chair.

Quantum Foundation has been continuing its efforts to make people aware to donate blood voluntarily since 1996.

The organisation claimed it has been able to play role in saving life of around 14 lakh people with its efforts in the last two decades. The country has demand of around 8-10 lakh bags of safe and healthy blood every year.
