Inclusion of police at INTERPA conf. creates new possibilities to combat cyber-crime: IGP

DHAKA, Sept 14, 2022 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed today said engagement of police at the International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA) conference has created new possibilities for combating cyber-crime.

INTERPA is a potential organization to increase capacity of policemen of member countries. The international engagement of the police at the INTERPA conference has created new possibilities to combat cyber crime," he said.
 
The IGP was addressing the closing ceremony of the 11th annual INTERPA Conference at a city hotel as the chief guest, a press release said.

INTERPA President Prof Yilmaz Colak and Police Staff College Bangladesh Rector (Additional Inspector General of Police) Khandker Golam Faruq also spoke there, the release added.

Benazir also said that cybercrime has now become a new challenge in the world.

"It is not possible for any single country to deal with this crime. For this, it is necessary to form an alliance and increase mutual cooperation between the police of different countries," he added.

The IGP thanked INTERPA President and others for selecting Bangladesh as the venue for holding the conference.

Besides, INTERPA President Prof Yilmaz Colak expressed his deep gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for inaugurating the conference.
