KHULNA, Sept 26, 2022(BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Huq has said the government will preserve the historical places of the Liberation War and mass graveyard.
"The Freedom Fighters fought for independent Bangladesh during the Great Liberation War. Bangladesh is marching towards the spirit of the Liberation War. We should honour our golden son of the soil," he said.
He said this while inaugurating newly built Muktijoddha Complex Building at Batiaghata upazila here last evening as the chief guest.
The government is very sincere to ensure facilities for FFs, their spouses, children and their next generation, he said.
He said smart card will be distributed among the FFs next month.
The minister also asked the authorities concerned to maintain quality construction of 'Beer Nibas' for FFs.
Jatiya Sangsad Whip Panchanan Biswas, MP, and Md Amirul Alam Milon, MP, addressed the event as the special guests with Khulna deputy commissioner Md Moniruzzaman Talukder in the chair.
Superintendent of Police Md Mahbub Hasan, District unit Awami League (AL) president Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, FF Sarder Mahbubur Rahman and Upazila chairman Md Ashraful Alam Khan also addressed while project director of the Muktijoddha Complex Md Abdul Hakim delivered the welcome speech.
Later, the minister virtually attended a view exchange meeting with the FFs of Khulna Sadar, Dakop and Morelganj upazila in Bagerhat.
