DHAKA, Sept 29, 2022 (BSS) - Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister
Md Shahab Uddin today said the present government, led by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina, will continue to provide necessary support for celebration of
Durga Puja of Hindu community.
"Measures are being taken to ensure that the law and order situation remains
normal during the puja. Attention is being paid to ensure that there is no
shortage of electricity at puja mandaps," he told a function joining
virtually from his official residence here.
On the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja-2022, the Ministry of Disaster
Management and Relief arranged the function at Baralekha upazila of
Moulvibazar to distribute clearance letters (DO) for distribution of GR rice
among 139 puja mandaps.
Speaking as the chief guest, Shahab Uddin said instructions have been given
to the concerned officials to ensure power supply during puja and the
organisers are also asked to arrange generators.
He said Bangladesh's development progress will continue as long as Sheikh
Hasina remains in power.
She has been working day and night to make Bangladesh a developed country,
the minister said, adding that there is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina for
the development of Bangladesh.
Chaired by Baralekha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sunjit Kumar Chand, the meeting
were attended, among others, by Baralekha Upazila Parishad chairman Soeb
Ahmed and former Upazila Parishad chairman and Awami League Baralekha Upazila
Branch acting general secretary Rafiqul Islam Sundar.
