NARAYANGANJ, Oct 15, 2022 (BSS) - Three people were killed after an engine-powered boat collided with another ferry and capsized in the Shitalakshya river at Nabiganj ferry Ghat in the city last night.

The deceased were identified as Shawon, 18, Jhim, 19 and Rifat 21.

 An eyewitness named Ujjal Hossain said the boat carrying 7/8 passengers was on its way to Hajiganj ferry ghat from Nabiganj ferry ghat and collided with the ferry when it reached the middle of the river and sank the boat around 10.30pm.

Most of the passengers managed to swim to safety, but the trio went missing after the incident.

 Later, the three bodies were recovered from the river, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense Fakhr Uddin Ahmed said.
