Bangladesh marches forward vibrantly: Shahriar

RAJSHAHI, Oct 20, 2022 (BSS)- State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam today said that the present Bangladesh is marching forward vibrantly under the prudent and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"Import-dependency of Bangladesh is the lowest among 193 countries in the world," he said while inaugurating the newly constructed building of Kaluhati High School under Charghat Upazila in the district as chief guest.

The State Minister said the economy of the western countries is being squeezed in terms of dealing with the Covid-19.

 Whereas, IMF said Bangladesh's GDP will be six percent during the current year.

Referring to the development of the educational sector, he said sufficient allocation has been given in the national budget for the education sector.

He said there is no alternative to ensure qualitative education for taking the nation forward. So, the present government has attached top priority to the sector.

Shahriar Alam told the meeting that the country attained remarkable success in all development sectors due to the consistency of Sheikh Hasina's government for the last around 14 consecutive years.

He said now none needs to come to her with the problems related to power and road communication and the application for construction of school buildings has reduced to half as most of the educational institutions have got buildings.

Calling for turning the educational institutions into the best places of acquiring knowledge he added that there is no alternative to operate the educational institutions competently for quality development of education side by side with generating skilled and worthy manpower.

Quality education will be ensured in both urban and rural areas if the academic classes are conducted by the skilled and competent teachers.
