Mustafa President, Yasir GS of Rangpur city Jatiya Party

RANGPUR, Oct 25, 2022 (BSS) - Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa and SM Yasir have been re-elected as President and General Secretary respectively of Rangpur city Jatiya Party (JaPa).
 
Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, MP, announced their names as President and General Secretary at the triennial conference of Rangpur city Jatiya Party held at the public library ground here today.
 
He also announced the names of Md. Lokman Hossain and Zahidul Islam as Senior Vice-presidents of the 251-member executive committee of Rangpur city JaPa.
 
Jatiya Party Presidium Member and Rangpur city Jatiya Party President Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa presided over the conference participated by tens of hundreds of leaders and workers of the party from all 33 ward units of Rangpur city.
 
Jatiya Party Co-chairman Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, MP, addressed as a special guest.
 
Secretary General of Jatiya Party Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu, MP, and Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary, MP, addressed the occasion as the keynote and special discussants respectively.
 
Jatiya Party central Vice-chairman Ahsan Adelur Rahman, MP, Rangpur city Jatiya Party General Secretary SM Yasir, Convener of district Jatiya Party Abul Masud Chowdhury Nantu and its Member-secretary Haji Abdur Razzak, central and local leaders were present.
 
Quader called upon Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take appropriate steps for protecting the country and its people from a possible famine and said that unnecessary mega projects should be stopped, if necessary.
 
"Due to the global crises caused by the Russia-Ukraine War and Covid-19 pandemic, payment of foreign loan installments should be suspended. Electricity problem has to be solved. Prices of goods should be kept within the purchasing power of people," he said.
 
He said, "Jatiya Party's roots are Rangpur from where the severed roots must start growing anew. Otherwise the party will vanish. To save Jatiya Party, Rangpur City Corporation elections must be won again, our candidate must win."
