SHARIATPUR, Oct 30, 2022 (BSS) - A man and his minor daughter were killed and three others injured as a microbus plunged into a ditch in Naria Upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

The deceased were identified as advocate Rashedul Haque Rashed, 38, hailed from Bhasan Char village in Shariatpur Sadar Upazila and his daughter Maisha, 2.

Rashed's wife, his elder daughter and the driver of the microbus were injured in the accident.

Police said the accident occurred around 2:30 am in Jamtola area on Shariatpur-Dhaka Highway as Rashed lost control over steering while he was driving the vehicle instead of its driver.

All the injured were brought to Jazira Upazila Health complex where the duty doctor declared Rashedul and Maisha dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Naria Thana Md Hafizur Rahman said Rashed along with his family members was returning home from Cox's Bazar by the microbus.
