CUMILLA, Oct 31, 2022 (BSS)- Four people were killed and three others injured as a bus hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Katharpool dumping area in Chandina upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as CNG driver Habibur Rahman,27, son of Babul Miah, resident of Chotana village of Devidwar upazila, Tanni,20 and her daughter Muntaha, 03, residents of Chandina Madhaiya area and Rajiya, 40, wife of Abu Miah, resident of Nawtola area in the upazila.

The accident occurred when a speedy bus hit the Cumilla bound CNG-run auto rickshaw from behind in the area around 12.40pm, leaving two passengers of the CNG dead on the spot and five other injured, said Akul Chandra Biswas, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mainamati Highway Police Station.

The injured were taken to Kabila Eastern Medical College Hospital, where two persons succumbed to their injuries, he said.

Later, the injured were shifted to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
