NAOGAON, Nov 5, 2022 (BSS) - Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today said the people of the country will vote for Awami League (AL) again for the development schemes implemented during the present government's tenure.
"AL has fulfilled its commitment of reaching electricity to all households across the country. The present government stood by the people by providing VGD, old-age, widow and disability allowances," he said.
The food minister made the remarks while addressing the triennial council of Bahadurpur Union Mahila AL on the union parishad premises at Niamatpur upazila in the district.
Noting that BNP had closed the community clinics that were set up during the AL period, Sadhan said, "But, the AL government reopened the community clinics. People now get health services there. About 30 types of medicines are being given at free of cost there".
Pointing out that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has won the hearts of mothers and sisters through development; he said that they will choose Sheikh Hasina again in the next election to continue the development.
Bahadurpur Union Mahila AL President Hasnara Begum presided over the council while Niamatpur upazila AL President Md Abul Kalam Azad, Vice President and Upazila Chairman Md Farid Ahmad and General Secretary Md Zahid Hasan Rasel and Bahadurpur Union AL President Md Mamunur Rashid Mamun spoke at the programme, among others.
Niamatpur upazila Mahila AL President Nadira Begum inaugurated the council while General Secretary Shahnaj Perveen spoke as the chief speaker.
