GAZIPUR, Nov 7, 2022 (BSS) - After opening two lanes to traffic on the 2.2-km Tongi Flyover under Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, it takes only five minutes for traveling from Tongi in Gazipur to Azampur in Uttara.

The drivers and passengers are very happy for faster movement from Tongi in Gazipur to Azampur in Uttara.

 Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader opened the 2.2 kilometers Tongi Flyover between House Building and Tongi Fire Service portion for trafficking on Sunday morning.
 
A few days ago, passengers and transport drivers had to spend a long time to cross the traffic jam on this road.

 The opening of two Dhaka-bound lanes of the flyover brought relief to commuters traveling on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
 
Passengers traveling on this route said that traffic jams at Tongi Bazaar, Tongi Bridge and Abdullahpur from Tongi Station Road to Uttara were a daily companion.

 With the opening of the flyover, it takes only five minutes from Tongi Fire Service Station to Azampur in the capital's Uttara.

When the flyover to be opened fully, the common people will be relieved from the traffic jam to a great extent.
 
The Ministry of Road Transport and BRT authorities said that 80 percent of the work has already been completed.
