KHULNA, Nov 10, 2022 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek, MP, today said the government reached health services at the people's doorsteps through community clinics.
“The present government has appointed over 20 thousands of physicians, 25 thousand of nurses and included over 60 thousand of beds to the public hospitals across the country in last couple of years,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the Khulna divisional level workshop on health, population and nutrition at the Shilpokola Academy in the city today.
The chief guest said high quality medicine and vaccine are now being produced in the country.
In the upcoming health programme, there will have opportunities to work about diseases like cancer, kidney, heart and diabetics, he said.
Malek, however, said people should cut personal expenses to get health services through correct planning and effective initiatives, side by side people should be encouraged for building regular habit for having healthy foods through the programme.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare in cooperation with Khulna Health Division organized the workshop with secretary of Health Division Dr Md Anwar Hossain in the chair.
Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque addressed the workshop as special guest while DG of the Directorate of Health Dr Abul Bashar Md Khurshid Alam, DG of the Directorate of Family Planning Sahan Ara Banu, DG of the Directorate of Health Education Professor Dr A K M Amirul Morshed, DG of the Directorate of Medicine Administration Maj Gen Mohammad Yousuf, DG of the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery Rasheda Akter and Khulna divisional commissioner Md Zillur Rahman Chowdhury, among others, addressed.
